This is a course designed for Community Association Managers and Board Members on the topic of Association Collections Strategies. This continuing education course will cover topics such as collections, lien foreclosures, money judgments, and the statutory processes for collection in condominium, cooperative and homeowner associations, together with provisions found Florida Statutes / Florida Administrative Code pertaining to annual meetings and elections.

2 LCAM CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
This is a course designed for community association managers and board members on the topic of Annual Meetings and Elections. This course covers the procedures for conducting annual meetings and elections in condominiums, cooperatives and homeowners associations, together with the provisions found in Florida Statutes/Florida Administrative Code pertaining to annual meetings and elections.

Introduction To Community Associations
1 LCAM CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT
This is an abridged version of the course “Association Collections Strategies” intended for Community Association Managers and Board Members on the topic of association collections. Board Member Certification Course allows participants to gain a basic understanding of the daily operations of a condominium association to meet the new Florida Statutory requirements for board members. Board members will also gain an understanding on how to prepare a budget, operate and maintain reserves, collections/foreclosures, insurance policies, conduct and notice an election, maintain the association’s records, dispute resolution, contracts, financial reporting along with other board related responsibilities.

Licensed Community Association Managers will gain an insight to the key elements of delegating, how to cushion your time and how to avoid nay sayers and procrastination.

The Fundamentals of Condominium Insurance
1 LCAM CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT / 2 LCAM CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
This covers various topics of Condominium Insurance Fundamentals such as different types of insurances encountered by condominium associations, their inclusions and/or exclusions of coverage and best practices with regards to selecting insurance coverage for a condominium association.

Do's & Don'ts of Association Budgeting & Reporting (Available in Spanish)
1 LCAM CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT / 2 LCAM CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS / 1 CPA CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT
Learn why, when and how Associations budget. Gain an insight to the key elements of creating an operating budget, learn about what reserves are necessary for the association, and the different methods of budgeting for reserves. Gain an understanding of what notices need to be given to the members and when budget meetings can be held. Learn about budget disclosure requirements, and year-end financial reporting requirements.

Accounting & Budgeting for Bad Debt for Condominiums and HOA Associations (Available in Spanish)
1 LCAM CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT / 2 LCAM CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS / 1 CPA CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT
Gain an understanding of the difference between accrual and cash accounting; understanding the difference between Association’s accounting for bad debt and losing the legal right to collect bad debt; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for disclosure of bad debt; collection policies set by the association; assessing what stage of collections each property is in; the calculations for bad debt budgeting for the association.


DBPR Requirements:

TDBPR Continuing Education Requirements for Licensed Community Association Managers are:
Completion of 20 hours during each biennium prior to the license renewal date. The courses required are in the following areas: 4 hours of legal update seminars; 4 hours on insurance and financial management topics relating to community association management; 4 hours on the operation of the association’s physical property; 4 hours on human resources topics relating to community association management - topics may include, but are not limited to, disaster preparedness, employee relations, and communications skills for effectively dealing with residents and vendors; and 4 hours of additional instruction in any area described in Rule 61-20.508(3)(b), (c) or (d) Florida Administrative Code or any course or courses directly related to the management or administration of community associations.
